PURCHASING ETHICALLY - School Uniform Polo's & Sports Balls That Fit The Brief

Ethical consumerism, or buying ethically, is consumer based activism centred on the concept of dollar voting. It is practiced by consumers and businesses via the buying of ethically made products that support small scale manufacturers and artisans whose business models centre on protecting people, animals and planet. And that ideally have formal internationally recognised certifications attached to their products that back supplier claims. Especially as the word 'Ethical' is such a loosely used term made by suppliers these days who lack certification credentials.

RREPP's Founding Director Scott Goddard puts it into perspective:

'Ethical consumerism is a consciousness shift that all of us are capable of embracing, yet only a small percentage of us actually commit to doing it. We talk a good game yet most of us come up short when push turns to shove. A case in point that reveals Australia is a little slow embracing ethical consumerism, is that there are more than 5 million School Uniform Polo's made every year for over 10,000 Australian Schools. Yet less than 0.1% of our schools are purchasing even one ethically made product for their uniform shops. With the vast majority of conventional suppliers selling to schools having little understanding of their full supply chains, or concern for who is making their clothes and at what cost.

RREPP has worked long and hard to break away from convention, by producing and supplying our clothing through a supply chain that is 100% Organic and Fairtrade certified every step of the way. Simply put it is the best and fairest way to do business with our hard working producers, and with our customers who have committed to becoming ethical consumers wherever possible. It's what sets RREPP apart from the majority of other businesses in this space.'

So there is an alternative for P&C committees, Principals and School communities to start considering for their school uniform polo's. Made from 100% clean and healthy Organic & Fairtrade Certified cotton. A product that is both socially and environmentally conscious, combined with sustainable packaging.

The first step is always the hardest though. Yet as we have found with the Schools, Sporting Clubs and Businesses we already have on board, once that critical first step is taken, no one ever looks back. And just as importantly, our socially aware kids absolutely love wearing RREPP's School Uniform Polo's, and playing with our quality match standard Fairtrade Sports Balls.

'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. So for School's, Sporting Clubs and larger Businesses, if you'd like to make that first step towards joining RREPP's growing band of ethical consumers, simply contact us at info@rrepp.com.au
